About Crestfield College of Health Technology
Crestfield College of Health Technology, Erin-Osun has among others her mission to provide quality education in a multidisciplinary learning environment that fosters quality training, research, leadership and professionalism among middle level health care providers and practitioners and develop the attitudes and principles that will encourage continuous growth in health sector and related field. The founders also with deep sense and affection to revolutionize the concept of many Health Cares. The slogan “Building culturally relevant and community oriented health care providers” has been a sustaining motivation that led to the realization of the vision of the founders.
One of the founders, Dr Kafayat M. Lawal had many years of experience in the leadership of the Primary Health Care at the state level. She had a strong passion and vision to close the gap that existed as she noticed that many intending candidates for admission could not be absolved in the institution for training. This vision to build a qualitative team of health care providers with exceptional leadership skill that drive the health care system to an enviable height came into reality with the birth of a College of Health Technology at Ota, Ogun-State in partnership with the College of Health Technology Ilese in Ogun- State.
The founders were not satisfied until they were able to float a full fledge College of Health Technology at Erin-Osun in the State of Osun in 2014. This came as a result of aim of contributing their quota to nation building by putting up an enhanced health care delivery system to promote health care service delivery in the State of Osun.
The College is situated on 50 acres of land at Erin-Osun. In their relentless search for a good environment to site the College, a divine handled the founder to Erin-Osun where the Kabiyesi – Oba Yusuf Omoloye Oyagbodun sold 50 acres of land for the development. The Elerin – in – council received this development with warm embrace hence the new institution is developing without any hindrances.
All the programmes has been approved and fully accredited by the following regulatory bodies:
- Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN)
- Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN)
- Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
- Health Record Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN)
- West Africa Health Examination Board (WAHEB)
- Environmental Health Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (EHORECON)
The facilities in the school include school Clinic, Administrative block, Community Health Department, Environmental Health Departments, Community Demonstration Building, a multipurpose Hall, Medical Laboratories, Drug Dispensing Laboratories, Environmental Health Laboratory, Basic Science Laboratories, ICT, Cafeteria, Audio-Visual Room and Technical Drawing Room, Library, and E-Library, classrooms etc.
These facilities on ground encouraged the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Corporate Affairs Commission to effect registration and Accreditation respectively.
The College also has Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the following Institution for the training of the Students:
- Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital Osogbo, Osun State.
- Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Ile-Ife, Osun State
- UCH Ibadan, Oyo State.
- Osun State Local Government Service Commission
- Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission
The school is currently running the following programmes:
- Community Health Extension works (CHEW)
- Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW)
- Environmental Health Technology (EHT)
- Environmental Health Technician (EVT)
- Health Information Management (HIM)
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
- Pharmacy Technician (PHT)
- Health Assistant Medical (HAM)
- Health Technician (HT)
Each department and courses have qualified and certificate lecturers. The College has able administrative staff to Man the College
